I sure as shit gave him $100 twice last month. The report should be out tomorrow I guess? He bought a 30 minute block of prime-time air time with CBS and is negotiating with the other 3 majors. 30 minutes. Four networks. Advertising during the Olympics cost him $5MM. 120 total minutes will probably be around $40 - 60MM. That would mean that his fundraising went bonkers and is continuing.
That's a startling amount of cash. I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that Obama raised $166MM last month. Maybe more? Then there's this month's numbers which are probably huge too. I guess people are scared to death.
The point is that I'm astounded about how perfect this campaign has been run since day one. Hell, we haven't even seen the ground game yet (GOTV). Rumors are that Obama has 100K volunteers in Florida alone and some districts have already canvassed 100% of their homes. That's nuts.
I'm taking predictions for what the number will be.
Today's (Sunday) 538.com pie charts! Freaking awesome.
At first, I was thinking about giving some money to Obama. But I really can't afford it right now, and I'm not personally in favor of his turning down of public financing. I understand that, at the rate he's raising money, it would be foolish not to accept. I also understand that his money edge will be at least one of the deciding factors if he wins. At the same time, I felt like it went against his image to a certain extent and will end up ruining the imperfect system that is in place without putting anything better in to replace it.

John, I think he's got this. I might give him $100 reward money for rescuing my sanity.
BTW. Fuck you all fantasy style.
